Spring 2025 Newsletter

It all begins with an idea.

Hello and welcome!

Everyday Style LLC is a personal and home styling service - created to help clients look and live stylishly every day!

In this issue of our newsletter, we share spring’s 2025 color palette, spring’s top 5 items for Women and Men, the ES gift certificate, and a Q&A with our founder, Janelle, who shares highlights from her Paris fashion trip in February.

Spring 2025 Color

Mocha Mousse (first on the left) is the 2025 color of the year. This subtle, delicate organic brown pairs well with cool neutrals, tropical fruit tones, and clear aquatic hues.  Pastels and neutrals continue to reign supreme. Surprisingly, burgundy is now a spring-trend color!

Women’s Spring 2025

Trend Recap

This spring, fashion celebrates femininity and innocence in work and play, reimagining retro 60s trends.  Longer lengths in skirts and shorts. Denim outfits and horseshoe, cargo, and wide-leg cuffed jeans are balanced with sleek, slim, or cropped tops. Floral prints, vinyl outerwear, mesh, and sheer fabrications are present, but the focus remains on shape and form.

Top 5

1

The Denim Hook-Up

Medium- to light-tone denim matching sets are the head-to-toe outfits that set the tone for this season’s return to casual basics. Try shirting and jackets with cuffed or horseshoe denim jeans, bootcut styles, or mini- and midi-length denim skirts to create the look.

2

The Field Utility Jacket

This spring, the field utility jacket has been updated to include suede, canvas, leather, and vinyl. Pair it with fluted or full skirts this spring.

3

The Mary Jane Shoe

The ballet flat and low heel pumps are updated with a single and double strap to recreate the beloved Mary Jane. Grommets, suede, patent leather, and mesh update this retro style.

4

The Suede Piece

Suede returns as a key fabric for spring.  Belted jackets, shoulder bags, ballet flats, chunky heeled pumps, retro sneakers, and the retro bomber.

5

The Retro Sport Piece

80s and 90s sports lifestyle attire is a must-have.  Nylon parkas, suede trainers, mesh and net shoes and dresses, and wide-leg track pants add instant cool to your favorite blazer.

Our stylist can help you build these spring trends into your wardrobe!

Men’s Spring 2025

Trend Recap

Men’s spring 2025 fashion is the celebration of utility and sporty cool. Two-piece or matching dressing remains essential, as does the trench - updated this season in denim. Cargo, utility, and retro-leather bomber jackets are the statement pieces for every updated wardrobe. Wide-leg pants in tailored to casual fabrics or knee length shorts are this seasons’  key bottom.

Top 5

1

The Denim Hook-Up

Denim head-to-toe are the wardrobe staples for this season.  Denim ranges from dark blue to mid-tones and even bleached creams.  Match your denim shirt or jacket with the same color jeans or long shorts to achieve this modern look.

2

The Utility Jacket

The essential layering piece this spring is the boxy retro utility jacket in luxe fabrics like leather and suede or everyday cotton, denim, canvas, or nylon. Styling ranges from utilitarian to Carhartt-inspired workwear.

3

The Wide-leg Pant

Men’s bottoms have moved from cinched joggers to wider-leg denim, sweats, and trousers.  The key to updating is layering with shorter tops, tees, and sweater layers.

4

The Boxy Top

Button-front woven and tee shirts have exaggerated lengths - cropped and short or long and square.  Camp shirts and open-weave knit polos are this season's staples.

5

The Bag

The waist bag (fanny pack/bum bag) has moved north and is now a crossbody bag.  Leather and nylon are top fabrics, and zippers and metal accents add edge.

Q&A with our Founder

Janelle answers your style questions…

Question: Why Paris?  What about this city compels you to return?

Janelle: There is no city like Paris!  Art, food, culture, and fashion combine to create something old but new - genuinely unique.  This ancient city continues to modernize itself, and that inspires me.

Question: Why shop for fashion in Paris?

Janelle: The Parisian fashion shopping experience is grounded in service and experience. Every transaction felt curated, and the assortments felt localized and unique. The department stores were experiential. They contained art installations, restaurants, lounges, and branded boutiques.  Pricing is also advantageous with tax and foreign refund programs.

Question: What was your itinerary?

Janelle: My trip included department stores like the Bon Marche and Galleries Lafayette, vintage shopping in the Marais, and designer boutiques on Avenue Montaigne. A local duo curated my trip to create a diverse experience that allowed me to see the parts of the city I loved and discover new areas.

Question: What fashion items did you buy?

Janelle: I focused on vintage pieces and items that are harder to find in the U.S. Notable buys were a Courreges trench, a vintage Margiela knee-length circle skirt, a thin Celine belt,  a vintage Celine clutch, and the Margiela Tabi heeled ballet shoe (photos below).   I can’t wait to pair these items with things I already own.

Holiday 2024 Newsletter

It all begins with an idea.

Hello and welcome to our holiday fashion newsletter!

In this issue of our quarterly newsletter, we share this winter’s outerwear and boot trends, our holiday dressing guide, and introduce our new offering - The ES gift certificate! Discover styling tips from our founder. Don’t forget to subscribe for future newsletters.

Outerwear

Winter coats are long, lean, waist-cinched, tailored, double-breasted, and oversized. Update your outerwear game this winter with a floor-length coat in bold red, supple camel mohair, menswear plaid, or utility green.

Boots

This winter, boots are tough and tall. Over-the-knee (OTK) boots are a favorite of the fashion set. Chunky, square soles, thick treads, and cowboy influence are ever-present. Toes are pointed or square; you can’t go wrong.

Holiday Dressing

The holiday party season is here!!!!    Wondering what to wear? Decode the dress code with these styling tips:

Dressy Casual

Dressy casual is a versatile balance between everyday casual and formal. Select a sheath, fitted, or tunic dress or one dressy item (blouse, skirt, sweater, or pants) paired with an everyday item such as dark, clean denim, black wool skirt, or trousers.

Business Casual

Business casual is characterized by suiting or matching suit separates in dark, dressy fabrics or patterns. These events are typically for networking, fundraisers, and dinners. It is important to stay modest. To maintain professionalism, avoid low-cut, shoulder-bearing, or too-fitted styles.

Semi-Formal/Cocktail

A semi-formal dress code is more formal than business attire. This is the perfect occasion for your little black dress or dark suit. If the event is after 6 p.m., err on formality.

Black Tie/ Formal

Black Tie is the most common dress code for holiday events, weddings, formal dinners, and theater. The best options are floor-length dresses and skirts and tuxedo jackets and suits. If Black-tie optional is listed, you can opt for a shorter cocktail dress or a dark suit.

White Tie

White Tie is full evening attire and is the most formal of all dress codes. White-tie event invitations indicate guests will be royal, celebrity, or have high social standing. The best attire is floor-length gowns, long gloves, tailcoats worn with side-stripe satin trousers, vests, bow ties, and patent shoes.

On Social Media

Fashion influencers are embracing shine, feathers, sequins, red, and proportion (micro mini to floor length) this holiday. 50s vintage-inspired plaid and midi dresses, 70s micro-minis, and slouchy tailored pantsuits are cool-girl looks hot with the IT crowd.

Q&A with our Founder

Janelle answers your style questions…

Question: As a stylist, what are the most common mistakes in holiday dressing?

Janelle: Overspending on a single-wear item. If you are on a budget, spend more on investment pieces that will last beyond current trends. Use inexpensive trend accessories to update your favorite little black dress.

Question: What tips do you have for winter shopping?

Janelle: When shopping seasonally, consider the weather and your locale. If you live in a cold climate, invest in several different styles of coats and boots to keep your look fresh throughout the long winter months.

Question: How can I update my drab or neutral coats and boots?

Janelle: To bring joy to neutral-colored coats, opt for cold-weather accessories in bright colors or with embellishment. Try colorful beanies, berets, scarves, wraps, mittens, balaclavas, stoles, and more.

Question: Any tips for menswear?

Janelle: We style all bodies, sizes, and price points. For more traditionally masculine aesthetics, we recommend investing in a classic tuxedo, a velvet shawl-collar smoking jacket, and patent leather dress shoes.  These holiday styles are versatile and can be worn each year!

Fall Fashion Newsletter

It all begins with an idea.

Hello, and welcome to our very first fashion newsletter!

In this issue of our quarterly newsletter, we share the essential fall trends, five key pieces to update your wardrobe, home décor trends, learn about our new service offering, and meet Janelle, our founder.

Fall Overview

This fall, fashion returns to an era of femininity, combining 50's silhouettes and moody romantic details. The military trend softens, and soft classic separates remain. Excitedly, the skirt, leopard print, and the low heel return!

Fall 2024 Runway

Fall 2024 Color Palette

Warm spice tones meet utilitarian cool. Rich plum, dark greens, camel, oxblood, and golden yellow are balanced by ice blue and warm gray. Monochromatic outfitting reigns supreme.

Fall 2024 5 Key Pieces

The five most important styles to add to your wardrobe to refresh your look this fall.

A stylist can help you find these styles within your budget, size, and style preference to create the perfect look.

  1. The trophy jacket— double-breasted blazers, crop trenches, baseball, and utility jackets—is a seasonal must-have. Gold hardware, tweed, shearling, and leather add a polished touch. A novelty jacket, whether sporty or classic, is this fall’s winning topper.

  2. The statement blouse— shirting takes on a romantic quality with neck wraps and ties, animal and deep floral prints, and flowy chiffon or crisp poplin in architectural silhouettes.

  3. The long skirt— whether full, fluted, column, pleated, denim, or leather—adds just the right touch of femininity.

  4. Sculptural jewelry— Gold and silver jewelry is simple, artistic, and focused on form. Embellishment is OUT, and liquid-like structured metal is IN.

  5. The low heel— in slingbacks, loafers, and ballet flats make a comfortable and stylish footwear statement. Heels range from short kittens to thick treaded soles.

On Social Media

Fashion influencers are styling these five pieces by playing with proportion and layering—shorter, boxy crops over long, lean bottoms.

Are you feeling brave? Try the transitional city short. It is an excellent alternative to a skirt and adds instant cool to your classic workwear.

Home Trends

Home has gone neutral in color with cream, brown, green, black, and brown, creating a clean and organic feel. Nubby shearling accents offset steel, wood, glass, and marble. The Mid-Century focus on form and function continues while natural materials are updated to bring in the LUXE.
